Mission

The Nathaniel H. Kornreich Technology Center, which is part of Abilities!, is a not-for-profit assistive technology demonstration, education, and evaluation center. Through the use of assistive technology, the Center is dedicated to promoting the full participation and independence of children and adults with disabilities in school, at work, at home, and in the community.

What’s Happening

In addition to ongoing AT evaluations and training for individuals with disabilities; support for the school and the employment programs at Abilities!; dissemination of information about AT through our library, tours, and presentations — we are involved in a range of projects related to our mission. NEC FOUNDATION AWARD:

The Kornreich Technology Center has been selected by the NEC Foundation to develop a digital educational program entitled A Functional Approach to Workplace Accommodations. A preview version of the program is available on the National Business & Disability Council (NBDC) website.

INCLUSIVE TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM EXPANDS:

All classrooms in the Henry Viscardi School have been equipped with assistive and instructional technology to enhance the way instruction is delivered and to expand students’ educational horizons.

NEW ACQUISITIONS:

Find out about some of our newest assistive technology, such as the Tango! handheld AAC device and the lomak light operated mouse and keyboard.
