About the Research & Evaluation Center

Mission Statement

The Research and Evaluation Center supports the Vision and Mission of Abilities! through innovative approaches to research, evaluation, dissemination and teaching. The Research and Evaluation Center works collaboratively with the divisions of Abilities! to ensure that the highest quality educational, vocational, employment and independent living opportunities are developed and provided to people with disabilities and their families. Nationally, the Research and Evaluation Center is committed to influencing policy and impacting the exchange of new knowledge, information and exemplary practices so that people with disabilities can participate fully in community life.


Research and Evaluation Specialist

Chaim Adler is the new Research and Evaluation Specialist. His responsibilities include conducting, analyzing, and reporting outcomes evaluations on the Abilities, Inc. evaluation, training, and placement programs. He also is conducting market research into both the local consumer population and area vocational service providers.

Chaim is a graduate student at Hofstra University, where he is pursuing a Doctorate in Applied Organizational Psychology. His dissertation explores the impact of corporate social responsibility on employee attitudes and behaviors. Specifically he is looking at the relationships between organizational commitment to environmental policy and employees’ feelings of commitment, job satisfaction, their organizational citizenship behaviors, as well as other similar constructs. His training has largely focused on research design, data collection, analysis, and psychological theory and practice as it applies in the workplace. Previously, Chaim worked as a data analyst for a recurring news 12 Long Island political poll as well as a training program evaluator for a dementia research grant. Chaim is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
