Jeopardy Game in SMART Notebook

In this episode we will demonstrate how to create an interactive Jeopardy game for use in your classroom. We will be utilizing version 9.5 of the SMART Notebook software. This tutorial is designed as a step-by-step guide to creating an instructional support activity. You will learn several basic and advanced skills. Once mastered, these skills will not only help you to create activities such as a Jeopardy game, but they will also help you to maximize your daily use of the SMARTboard. Some of these skills include, but are not limited to, drawing lines and shapes, adding text, resizing objects, using the gallery, changing background color and linking pages within a notebook file. Theses skills are integrated throughout the tutorial and are easily marked by chapter headings, which will help you locate a particular skill when you wish to review what you have learned.

Universal Design: Impacting the Community

This is a debriefing of team members from Abilities!, the Henry Viscardi School and the Kornreich Technology Center who participated in the semester-long design projects (Spring 2006) of undergraduate students from the Columbia University Fu School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in New York. Students worked on problems involving children and adults with disabilities, attempting to solve them using universal design principals and appropriate adaptations. Recommendations are discussed for future design teams based on their experiences with engineering students over 3 semesters of work. Participants in this discussion are Christine Pawelski, Jeanette Glover, Susan Fridie, and David Willingham.
