Ms. Kazumi Kanemura was at Abilities! from August 28 through September 26, 2001 as a part of her scholarship the Duskin Study Abroad Program for the Disabled. She worked with Mary Anne Cicchillo in the Henry Viscardi School, along with observing in classrooms and at the Kornreich Technology Center. She also spent 4 months studying assistive technolgy at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. Find Kazumi's perspectives related to the differences between the U.S. and Japan, especially in terms of assistive technology issues and access for people with disabilities.

Since 1999, staff of the National Center for Disability Services and the Henry Viscardi School have been involved in developing various types of training programs in the area of assistive technology for teachers, parents and related service professionals. Ms. Cicchillo is a 25-year veteran teacher, supervisor and RIATT/NASDSE trainer in assistive technology for the state of New York. Find her introduction to AT in this e-lecture.
